SAC-SEPA conference on valuing ecosystems

Category: News
30 April 2012

Dr Catherine Gerrard and Dr Thomas Doering attended the SAC/SEPA conference Valuing Ecosystems: Policy, Economic and Management Interactions in Edinburgh in early April. Thomas Doering presented a number of posters featuring ORC’s crops and agro-forestry research, while Catherine Gerrard presented a talk on assessing the provision of public goods by farming. Also featured was Laura Hathaway-Jenkins’ ORC-supported PhD work on effects of organic management on soil water infiltration. The conference was very interesting, presenting numerous approaches to valuing ecosystems and with a large amount of discussion and debate on the topic. The proceedings are available to view here.
