IOTA Agro-forestry workshop

20 September 2012

Venue: Whitehall Farm, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

Agro-forestry Workshop run by the Institute of Organic Training and Advice.

A one day workshop for advisers, trainers, researchers, and others interested in providing advice and development of agro-forestry systems for farmers and growers.

The workshop will draw on Stephen Briggs’ unique experiences from his recently-completed Nuffield Scholarship studying agro-forestry across the world including China, USA and Europe.

  • Why agro-forestry?
  • Worldwide commercial and research experience
  • What do we know about yields, disease, and profitability?
  • How do advisers help farmers and growers develop appropriate systems?

Speakers to include Dr Jo Smith (Senior Agroecology Researcher, Organic Research Centre) and Mark Measures (IOTA Director).

The workshop will also feature Whitehall Farm’s commercial organic apple/cereal agro-forestry system.
