Farming With Trees Event – Rhug Estate, Corwen, Denbighshire, LL21 0EH. 10:00 – 30 July 2013 16:30

The Woodland Trust and The Soil Association have organised a FREE technical event which will demonstrate how trees can complement and support your farming system.
At this event, The Woodland Trust will highlight some approaches to integrating trees on farm as well as financial support available for planting trees. You will also hear from a number of pioneering farmers who will share their experiences including:

  • The Pontbren Project – a farmer-led approach to managing trees in the uplands
  • Shropshire Agroforestry Project
  • Rhug Estate Case Study

Jo Smith, Senior Agroecology Researcher at ORC will present information on the latest research regarding agroforestry techniques both here and abroad. An organic lunch and refreshments will be provided. A farm walk will also be held at Rhug Estate in the afternoon.
