Sick and tired of feeling downtrodden and under-valued at work? Yearning to feel the power of collective action, solidarity and care with fellow workers? Solidarity Across Land Trades (SALT) is offering a series of political education workshops! Register here. Join one of our sessions across the UK to learn about your rights, feel empowered to organise in land-related trades, enjoy free tea, coffee and snacks, and meet fellow workers. You don’t need to have any experience or previous knowledge of organising to join. Workshops are open to SALT members and non-members, so if you’re already a member, share this invitation with a friend or co-worker who isn’t!

Why now?
A strong workers’ movement is essential. Not only for our own dignity and survival, but for a just transition towards regenerative and ecological land and food systems that prioritise the welfare of working people. These workshops aim to challenge the decades of normalised abuse and underpayment in land-related sectors, equip you (workers) with the political knowledge and language to challenge abuses of power in your own workplaces, and to help you see yourself as part of a broader worker-led movement.
Through a programme of creative sessions, presentations, group discussions and personal reflections, we will learn about the links between cheap food, cheap labour, colonialism and capitalism; practice challenging power and asserting our rights; and strengthen our connectivity across the workers’ movement. We are organising against an increasingly violent landscape of misinformation, complicity in genocide, a growing far right and authoritarianism and a climate of union busting. This has isolated workers, pitting us against each other instead of against the political economic systems that structure our lives. Together, we will build power and solidarity by drawing from the legacies of workers’ movements for collective liberation.
