Adam and Rita at Pitney Farm Market Garden stood out for their exceptional standard of growing and innovation, producing great quality vegetables for the local community. They put into practice the organic principles in running a very successful, well-established business, providing employment for several staff on a remarkably small area of land.
2024 YOFGY Winner
Chris Gospel
Chris Gospel in Aberdeenshire was notable for the very high standard of organic farming, running a traditional beef, sheep and arable system but developing that with novel crops, sometimes intersown, and processing of organic rape seed oil, branded as Or.Ganic and sold in certain specialist shops. Animal welfare is a high priority, biodiversity is well integrated into the farming system, and he provides a great opportunity for students and others to learn from his experiences.
2022-23 YOFY Winner
Alex Parkinson
Alex is farm manager for RBOrganic in Norfolk, one of the largest organic carrot growers in the UK. He has risen rapidly in the company from a non-farming, engineering background, firstly with a Sainsbury’s apprenticeship, then as tractor driver, assistant manager and now manager.

Ashley Wheeler and Kate Norman of Trill Farm Garden, Musbury, Devon, were announced as winners of ORC’s first YOFY award at a special 40th anniversary event at FarmEd on 30th September 2021.
