Groundswell: Bokashi Research Demonstration and Q&A Session

Join us at Groundswell for a 30-minute demo and informal talk with Andrew Sincock and ORC’s Dr. Catriona Willoughby looking into the science behind Bokashi and why it’s part of the Feed the Soil project to help farmers approaching on farm composting at different scales.

Composted organic waste is a key input to provide food to soil organisms and build soil health. Growing interest in soil health and best management practices among farmers has renewed interest in composting methods, including Bokashi.

This demo will see Catriona Willoughby from the Organic Research Centre, and Andrew Sincock Farm advisor on the project look at the Bokashi process and evidence of composts impact on soil health and crop production.

Catriona Willoughby Andrew Sincock will share insights and approaches for using Bokashi at a farm scale.

Catriona Willoughby will touch on aspect of the Feed The Soil project and provide insights into why the direct of travel for planned findings on the best way to make use of organic wastes to optimise microbial diversity and function while sustaining crop yields and farm incomes.
