Defra and UKRI have released further details on their programme of long-term funding to support agricultural innovation.
In partnership with UKRI, Defra is encouraging farmers, growers, foresters and businesses to get involved in ambitious industry-led research and development, in the opening round of the Industry-led R&D Partnerships fund.
This is the first of three new funds to launch in the Farming Innovation Programme, which will support ambitious R&D projects to transform productivity and enhance environmental sustainability in England’s agricultural and horticultural sectors, whilst driving the sectors towards net zero. It builds on previous investment in innovation and our strong partnership with UKRI through the Transforming Food Production Challenge Fund and our Farming Innovation Pathways competition.
