Ben Raskin conducted a survey in 2024 on the attitudes to, and impact of, part-time farming. It got an amazing 230 responses. The report from the survey makes fascinating reading. It covers some of the mental and physical health benefits of farming part time, how COVID-19 experience has shifted people’s thinking, and also brings to light the challenges and drivers that face farmers both full and part time.

The report is available on Ben’s  Substack profile where he will be delving into some of the areas thrown up by the survey in a bit more detail, and profiling a range of people who are doing part-time farming so please do join the discussion over there.
