Debate continues on the detail of new EU Organic Regulations. The great fear is that an EU wide organic standard -“EU Organic” – will represent a dumbing down of high national standards such as many in the UK, without the allowance of labelling differentiation between them. The current Austrian EU Presidency had hoped to strike a deal before June 2006. This now looks unlikely. Roger Hitchings reports.
