Innovative network for promoting pulses as novel protein sources

Fava beans (Vicia faba) represent an excellent source of plant-based protein, yet it is underutilised in western countries. A DiverIMPACTS value chain analysis of fava bean-based food from the British company Hodmedod’s was carried out by the Organic Research Centre (ORC) and Wageningen University. The case study sheds light on how value chains can innovate to facilitate the promotion of fava bean-based food.
