They are investigating the role of hedgerows in supporting soil biodiversity that could improve the soil quality of neighbouring fields under different land management. As part of the project they would like to carry out a landscape-scale comparison of hedge-to-field variations in soil properties, in arable fields and leys on conventional and organic farms across England.
Are you interested in helping them with their research? They would need to visit your farm and take some soil samples at different distances from a hedgerow into the middle of the field.
