Defra has embarked on a consultation process to assess the future of the Organic Conversion Information Service – OCIS. As demand grows for home-produced organic food,rather than imports, the role of OCIS looks more important than ever.
A recent review concluded that OCIS should remain a free service, that it should be run as a separate service given the detailed and specific nature of conversion advice, and that it should remain a national service and not be regionalised.
