Cordiale Conference 26 – 27 June at Parc Naturel Regional D’Armorique, Finistere
Cordiale is a three year project (2010 – 2013) involving nine partners in France and England. It aims to develop sustainable tools to manage protected landscape changes and inspire communities to engage in landscape stewardship.
The Cordiale Toolkit which has been developed as part of this project provides advice, case stores and tools for sustainable landscape management. It compiles and shares some of the key lessons and methods developed through the Cordiale project. The three main areas of activity are landscape mapping, sustainable framing and traditional building.
Sally Westaway attended on behalf of the Organic Research Centre to learn about the Toolkit especially the tools and case studies related to local woodfuel supply chains and managing hedgerows for woodfuel and also to find out how the TWECOM Project could build on the work carried out as part of this project.
The Toolkit features 19 case studies and 28 tools, those that may be of use to farmers and landowners include;
